Child Study Team

Description of a CST:

The Child Study Team is comprised of a school psychologist, a social worker, and a learning disabilities teacher/consultant (LDT/C). This multidisciplinary team evaluates students to determine eligibility for special education, aids in designing appropriate and least restrictive programs for students who demonstrate difficulty in learning, and monitors students’ individual education programs (IEP). The CST provides case management services for students with IEPs and consults with teachers, parents, related service providers, and outside agencies (as needed with parent consent).

My name is Brian Eichert and I am excited to join the South Brunswick community as a Behavior Specialist in the district. I started in South Brunswick last year as a pre-doctoral school psychology intern on the Response to Intervention team. Prior to that, I worked as a school psychologist intern, counselor in a school-based mental health clinic, private clinician, and social-emotional learning consultant.

I graduated from Rutgers University with my BA in Psychology and then decided to continue my educational journey at Rutgers in the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology where I received both my Masters and Doctorate in School Psychology. It is my pleasure to work alongside school staff and administrators to build capacity and provide the resources needed to help all different types of learners succeed.
